Amazing debut at Paul Ricard in the Ligier European Series for Daniele Cazzaniga who gets the overall Pole Position for race 1 and wins the ProAm class in race 2 with his father Nicola…
Le Castellet (FRA). Daniele Cazzaniga proves once again to be very fast: in an unknow championship for him and with an almost unknow car, the driver from Monza sets the Pole Position in his qualifying session! This is how Daniele presents himself in the third round of Ligier European Series staged in Paul Ricard Circuit of Le Castellet. Dad Nicola shares the cockpit of the splendid Ligier JS P4 prepared by HP Racing by Monza Garage team, who for his part disputed an excellent work on qualifying improving 2 seconds from his best time getted in free practice and showing a progressive improvement in his performance. In race 1 Daniele maintains the leadership with authority, but a misunderstanding with an another driver forces him to go off-track at the Courbe de Signes: : car damaged and the team is forced to retire. In race 2 Nicola made a good start and an overall stint on excellent pace, after driver’s change Daniele began a peremptory comeback sealed with the fastest lap in the race and the victory in the ProAm class
Daniele Cazzaniga: Pole Position is the best result we could have hoped for, overall in our first participation in the championship and the first time we have driven the Ligier JS P4 in a competition. The feeling with the car and with the team was excellent. Shame for race 1, but very happy to share the victory class in race 2 with my father!”.
Nicola Cazzaniga: It was a really exciting weekend: seeing Daniele at the top in qualifying and winning the ProAm class in race 2 in a championship we didn’t know and with a new car for both of us is really satisfying! Personally I am particularly proud of the time obtained in qualifying, while in the race I suffered slightly from the slippery track due to the hot temperatures… but Daniele did an excellent stint and, after the unlucky race 1, we grab the victory of the ProAm class in race 2. I have to say that splashing champagne on French soil is even tastier!”.
