Imola (ITA). Daniele Cazzaniga offers a solid and convincing performance in the third round of the Italian Gran Turismo Endurance Championship held at the Autodromo Enzo and Dino Ferrari in Imola. The driver from Monza, with the Porsche GT3 Cup of the Ebimotors team shared with the Sicilian drivers Davide Di Benedetto and Giuseppe Nicolosi, impressed in a difficult race, with many incidents and the neutralization of the safety car on several occasions and interrupted by the race direction at the 104th minute, with 38 laps run, due to heavy rain on track. Starting fifth in the GTCup category, Daniele recovered three positions in the first stint of the race taking the lead in the 2nd ProAm Division. In the next two pit stops to get into the car are first Nicolosi and then Di Benedetto until the first long red flag stop. At the restart the rain falls more and more and the team decides to retire the car when it was classified in 12th place, while the race, after a few laps under FCY, is finally stopped.
Daniele Cazzaniga: “In the first stint of the race, I had fun even if we raced in really extreme conditions and the last green flag, before the race was finally stopped, was given with the track at the limit of practicability. We look forward to the last race in Monza because we have, however, shown a good performance”.
